Hi Visitor,

Well things have started with a bang for us here at the studio this year! Classes have been busy with everyone keen to get the new year off to a good start. It's been great to see so many of you back into things as soon as we re-opened, and even better to hear how many of you managed some sort of home practise over the holidays (even a little is better than none at all!). If anyone would like any advice on starting a home practise, please ask - we would love to help!

Namaste

New yoga students often ask about the meaning of "Namaste", which we usually say to one another at the end of class.I came across this definition recently which I thought really captured it all in a nutshell, so next time you "Namaste", do it with feeling!

In India when people meet and part they often say, Namaste' which means: "I honour the place within you where the entire Universe resides; I honour the place within you of love, of light, of truth, of peace; I honour the place within you, where, when you are in that place in you, and I am in that place in me, there is only one of us." – Mahatma Gandhi

Upcoming Workshops

 In March we will be holding a Yin Yoga workshop, date TBC.

Yin Yoga targets the deeper connective tissues that don't get stressed in a more muscular, active (Yang) practice. Poses are held for longer, achieving that targeting of the deeper tissues. "Long, deep and slow" is a good way to describe Yin practise! Please get in touch if you are interested in this workshop and we will get in touch when details are confirmed.

Room for Hire

 We have a smaller space within the studio which is currently used (as some of you know), by our wonderful massage therapist Deborah. At the moment she is using it only on Thursdays so the opportunity is there for someone with a complementary practise (massage, naturopath, nutritionist, acupuncturist....) to use it at other times. If you know of someone who might be interested, please tell them to get in touch.
